Martin Ranch Feral Hog Boar!!!

Hello! Thank you for contacting us about our feral hog hunts.  We hunt feral hogs Jan-Oct on our ranch, and the success rate is about the same all year long.  Please check our Martin Ranch Calendar from our home page at http://www.martinranch.com/ for available dates.

The cost of the hunt is $700/person. For this price we currently offer the following option:

Headquarters Ranch Hunt

-Hunting on our 3200 acre headquarters ranch in both high and low fenced environments.
-Includes three days/nights of hunting, lodging, and meals on ranch plus six feral hogs, varmints, and predators.
-Lodging includes comfortable bedrooms and full baths all inside central air/heat.
-Meals are served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

This hunt offers great hog hunting in different terrains. It's seldom we have a hunter who does not have the opportunity to take at least one hog during a three-day trip, and the average take home is three hogs per person. There is no closed season on feral hogs, so they may be hunted year round either day or night.

Our hunts begin at or around noon on the first day and end at or around noon on the fourth day.  Basically you are allowed 72 hours on the ranch beginning the moment you arrive at the ranch.  Additional days are only $100/person. You may also bring a non-hunting guest with you at a rate of $100/day.

We generally hunt from tower blinds at daybreak for a couple of hours and again in the evening just before dark.  You may, however, hunt as much as you'd like either day or night.  Stalk hunting is also acceptable as well as any other method of hunting first approved by our staff.  Night hunting is encouraged as most hogs have a nocturnal instinct, and we do provide hog lights at feeder locations that provide easy viewing through both rifle scopes and the naked eye from 100 yards.  For archery hunters, there are many areas near feeders where you may set up with a bow and take a 15-25 yard bow shot.

Feral hogs are considered an exotic animal in
Texas.  If you are a Texas resident, a standard hunting license is all you need to legally hunt hogs.  If you are a non-resident, a Type 157 Non-Resident Five-Day Special Hunting License costs $45.  You may obtain this license from Texas Parks and Wildlife or from any Wal-Mart or sporting goods store in Texas.  Please allow at least two weeks to obtain your license if you purchase from Texas Parks and Wildlife.  If you purchase from Wal-Mart or a sporting goods store in Texas, the wait time is only about 10 minutes per hunter.

What to bring? On our headquarters ranch, we supply all your food, drinks, linens, and snacks. You should; however, bring any specialty food, snack, or beverage to suit your personal needs. Alcoholic beverages are not provided, so bring your own if you so desire. We provide all the ice you'll need both on the ranch and for the ride home, but you should bring your own coolers to pack any meat back with you.

Of course, you should bring your own weapon, clothing, and hunting gear. Feel free to call or email the ranch for recommendations. Del Rio, at 35 miles, is the closest town in case you forget something. With over 40,000 residents, Del Rio has all the stores you might find in a small city.

Please see our rules and regulations policy for restrictions.

Please let me know if we may host your hunt.  I think you would have a great time on our ranch!

Looking forward to your reply!
